Resting in the Gardens

We’ve been using Kate Bowler and Jessica Richie’s book, “Good Enough” for a study this fall. Yesterday’s lesson touched on taking time to rest, recognizing that naps are not the only way of rest.

Among the many ways of finding rest, were calling a friend, gardening or reading a book for fun. The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, is one of my places of rest. So, taking advice from the book, I headed there today.

Usually, by this time, a lot of the Annual flowers are gone. But, today, most everything was in bloom.

A family in the church I last served, raised prize Dahlias.   Once they started blooming, for the rest of growing season, the church  was graced by their beautiful blooms.

Whenever I see  a Dahlia, I think of them and their generosity in sharing with us.
