A Facebook meme suggests, “The best way to honor those lost on 9/11, is to be the people we were on 9/12.” Twenty-five years ago, I was serving a church, in a small City nestled along the Mississippi River, far from the 9/11 attacks in New York, Washington, and Pennsylvania. Some days, I don’t know what is troubling me more, about the current administration in Washington. It feels like the cosmic powers of darkness have been set loose among us, a Pandora’s box of greed, hypocrisy, and indifference to the suffering in this world. There is an appalling lack of morality, and too few willing […]
Then Moses said, “I must turn aside and look at this great sight and see why the bush is not burned up.” When the Lord saw that he had turned aside to see, God called to him out of the bush, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.” Then the Lord said, “Come no […]

I lead a Wednesday afternoon study, primarily of people who are retired. Some have serious health issues right now, and others are dealing with the limitations of aging. We all are appreciating the permission to accept, that the best we can do at the time, is enough.
