The Psalmist asked, “Lord who may lodge in your tent? Who may dwell on your holy mountain?” Then answers the question with, “The one who is blameless and does what is right. And speaks truth from their heart.” Psalm 15:1 REB To speak truth from the heart, is to cut through alternative facts, misleading memes, […]
“For the message about the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God . . . For God’s foolishness is wiser than human wisdom, and God’s weakness is stronger than human strength.” I Corinthians 1:18, 25 From the outside, it looks like […]
“The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who lived in a land of deep darkness on them light has shined.” Isaiah 9:2 For weeks, my area of the country has been living under a cloud of darkness. People are afraid, fearful for their families, fearful for themselves, fearful of masked […]
“Take away from me the noise of your songs; I will not listen to the melody of your harps. But let justice roll down like the waters and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.” Amos 5:23-24 I find myself praying Amos’s words these days, “Let justice roll down like the waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing […]
Isaiah writes of God’s servant, “A bruised reed he will not break, and a faintly burning wick he will not quench; he will faithfully bring forth justice. He will not grow faint or be discouraged till he has established justice in the earth.” Isaiah 42:3-4 God’s hope for us has always been for a world […]
When the Magi saw that the star had stopped, they were overwhelmed with joy. On entering the house, they saw the child with Mary his mother, and they knelt down and paid him homage. Then, opening their treasure chests, they offered him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Matthew 2:10-11 For centuries, astronomers have speculated […]
“In the time of King Herod, after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem, asking, “Where is the child who has been born king of the Jews?” Matthew 2:1 “Now after the Magi had left, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, […]
I have always seen that Psalm as being about the Temple or tabernacle, because of what’s in the rest of the verses. But in thinking about it some more, I remember that the tabernacle and the Temple were made with God’s specifications down to the last detail. (Like the flowers He created!) The builders made it exactly as He had instructed, which was why it was so beautiful. And I believe God sees true beauty in obedient servants, whatever things large or small we do to serve Him. HE is what makes any place beautiful, and when we are in the center of His will, we are, too. <3

Thanks for your reflection. The words popped into my mind as I was thinking of day I had spent at an Arboretum, with all the beautiful flowers and blossoms around me.

I love the way Scripture pops into our minds in unexpected but appropriate places. :) <3

Wow I like this message.
You see I think if we meditate on this powerful scripture we get a glimpse too .
I recall Jacob making a similar remark Gen 28:17
New Living Translation
But he was also afraid and said, “What an awesome place this is! It is none other than the house of God, the very gateway to heaven!”
I think there are moments when you can sense the presence or His aura but you feel like its just a glimpse, then you think how excellent is actually His dwelling place.
The answer we will be looking for is, “There is more from where its coming from”
Great work!

Thanks for your reflection on this piece. I believe there are places made sacred by the prayers of God’s people. Certainly, places of joy and praise are among them.
